Have you ever wondered what happens to the coins that spin so nicely in the "funnel" set up in the Herpetarium Pavilion? Well… we consistently collect, sort, and count them, and once we gather a significant amount, we allocate it to support ZOO Płock.
In December 2023, we purchased medical equipment—indispensable for veterinary procedures. This includes a device for inhalation anesthesia and an oxygen concentrator. Thanks to these tools, more serious procedures will be less burdensome and safer for the animals.
If you have ever dropped a “penny” into our donation box, you have become Santa Claus and given a wonderful gift to the animals of ZOO Płock, for which we sincerely thank you.
The Association of Friends of Płock Zoo received funding from the City of Płock to produce a series of 6 film episodes that tell the story of the zoo's residents and staff. The Zoological Garden is a unique place with many areas that are inaccessible to visitors, and often it is precisely in these places where the most interesting things happen. Each episode explores work in a different department, such as the Aquaria, Herpetarium, Large Mammals, Carnivorous Mammals, and Birds. The staff introduce their charges and share with the viewers the responsibilities they carry out.
This publication is a booklet with puzzles designed for primary school-level children visiting Płock Zoo, both as part of organized tourist groups and family visits. The answers required to solve the tasks can be found on the content of educational boards. This makes a visit to the zoo more engaging for our youngest visitors. The purpose of the publication is to popularize and expand knowledge about the most valuable, endangered, and fascinating animal species, spark children's interest in their diversity and the need for their protection, and promote integration through solving tasks together.
In the 10th edition of the grant competition organized by the "Grant Fund for Płock" Foundation, we received funding of 14,000 PLN for a project focused on pollinating insects. The funds were used to renovate the insect hotel located in the Zoo and to produce an educational nature film about the hotel’s residents and other pollinators appearing in the Zoo. We are extremely happy that we could document the insects inhabiting the hidden corners of our Zoo—these tiny creatures that often go unnoticed during a visit but play an incredibly important role in nature, forming the largest animal group on Earth.
As part of an open call for proposals for the implementation of a public project in the field of tourism and sightseeing in 2022, the Association of Friends of Płock Zoo received funding from the City of Płock for the publication of a guide. The new guide, featuring an entirely different graphic design from previous editions, was published in a print run of 350 copies. It contains photographs with descriptions of many animal species, as well as a new map of the garden. In addition to its promotional function (competitions, fairs, events), the publication also serves an educational role for children. Out of its 90 pages, several have been dedicated to the youngest readers, engaging them with puzzles, sticker activities, and instructions to assemble animal models on their own. The new guide is sure to present the Płock Zoo as an excellent destination for recreation and leisure, offering attractions for everyone.

During the 9th edition of the grant competition for non-governmental organizations, the Grant Fund for Płock
once again supported the project of the Society of Friends of Płock Zoo, "Organization of an educational and recreational event for children with disabilities and chronic illnesses - Dream Night at the Zoo."
We are now starting work on the 15th edition of this event.
